Mandatory Training for All Research

Affiliating an Existing CITI Account with ISMMS

To affiliate your existing CITI account with ISMMS follow the steps below:

  • Log in to CITI Program.
  • Select “Click here to affiliate with another institution”, and select “Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai”.
  • Enter your work email account, your name as recognized by HR and your life number (or its equivalent) in the CITI profile page.
  •  Add the course(s) you need to complete and click “Submit”.

CITI Program - Financial Conflict of Interest in Research (FCOIR)

Required For

All investigators and members of the research staff.

When

Before ISMMS investigators and key personnel complete the Financial Interest in Research Disclosure Form they must take the mandatory Financial Conflicts of Interest in Research education module via CITI Program.

Access Instructions

  •  Open CITI Program

  • Select “Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai (SSO)” as your Organization Affiliation

  • Select “Continue” to SSO Login/Instructions 

  • Select “View Courses” for the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai

  • Select “Add a Course” under “Learner Tools for Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai”

  • A quiz will open up to be completed – please complete and select “yes” to adding the Financial Conflicts of Interest Course in Question #10.

  • Click "Submit"

Once the training module is complete, CITI Program automatically generates a certificate and the completion date is sent to eDMS as long as your CITI account is properly affiliated with ISMMS.

InfoEd Proposal Development: Demo 1

Required For

All users who will create or edit InfoEd proposals, are required to complete the InfoEd Proposal Development: Demo 1 training webinar prior to gaining access to the InfoEd Portal.  Refer to the Training Requirement Policy.

InfoEd is the software program used by ISMMS to prepare all sponsored project applications and a subset of ISMMS projects (see GCO Submissions Diagram).

InfoEd applications are routed for approval through the department(s) in which there are key personnel each year of the project.

When

Access to the InfoEd Portal requires completion of the InfoEd Proposal Development (PD): Demo 1 webinar.

Access Instructions

  • Go to PEAK > OnLine Courses > Functional > Research
    • Submit certification to the GCO? No

Re-certification

Not required.

CITI Research Security Training (Combined)

Required For

Required for covered individuals of sponsored project agencies covered under the CHIPS & Science Act and senior/key personnel of NIH sponsored projects submitting other support.

Access Instructions

  • Click here to auto-enroll > SSO sign in > Courses Ready to Begin > Research Security Training (Combined) > Start Now
    • Submit certification to the GCO? Yes, please submit the certification with the GCO submission.
