Dr. Christy is hoping to make an impact on the lives of patients by innovating in the medical device industry. She wants to combine her studies in Biomedical Engineering and Innovation & Entrepreneurship to understand and integrate patient/clinician needs from the very beginning of device R&D. She is a Biomedical Engineer at Mount Sinai BioDesign Team. The Mount Sinai BioDesign team brings together clinicians, designers, engineers, and entrepreneurs from throughout the Mount Sinai Health System to conceptualize, develop, and evaluate groundbreaking medical device technologies. Dr. Christy graduated from Duke University with her Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Innovation & Entrepreneurship. She ran the 2024 TCS NYC Marathon with the Mount Sinai Adolescent Health Center which provides free primary care services to teens in New York City.

Dr. Christy’s study titled CerviFlex aims to:

  • Eliminate the need for surgical dilation and general anesthesia to enhance patient comfort and make this procedure more accessible worldwide.
