Mount Sinai’s Innovation Partners (MSIP) is the technology commercialization arm of the Mount Sinai Health System, responsible for driving the real-world application of Mount Sinai discoveries and inventions, and the development of research partnerships with industry. MSIP integrates the academic vision and resources of ConduITS and the Mount Sinai CTSA to translate discoveries and inventions into health care products and services that benefit patients and society.
Entrepreneurship in the health care sector has become increasingly important. The rapid propagation of digital innovations for data gathering and communication technologies has transformed the way that clinicians and researchers collect, share, and analyze health information for better decision-making and health care delivery. Mount Sinai’s Innovation Core is designed to fill the gap in the training and expertise needed to advance a discovery from the research setting into a commercially viable product, or to recognize its potential for commercialization.
We achieve these goals by:
– Educating, training, and coaching the Mount Sinai clinical translational research workforce in the scientific and regulatory processes of innovation, commercialization, and entrepreneurship.
– Disseminating best practices and tools that accelerate commercialization and enhance collaborations to the broader CTSA network.
– Expanding our foundational infrastructure and entrepreneurship platform to promote workforce diversity and more effectively partner with our internal i3 accelerator and external consultants/advisors to bring fledgling ideas to product development, executive team building, funding, and launch.
Acknowledging the importance of innovation and the rewards that are associated with translation and commercialization, the Innovation Core will further accelerate the translation of discoveries and inventions to patient care globally.
