Introduction to Spanish Translations

The Office of Research Services (ORS) provides Spanish translation services exclusively for NIH-funded studies. This service helps research teams engage effectively with diverse communities; particularly Spanish-speaking patients by ensuring essential study materials are accessible and accurate.

What We Translate

The ORS Spanish translation service supports a wide range of documents, from short materials such as flyers to critical study documents like consent forms. This resource is especially valuable for teams conducting research with Spanish-speaking participants.

How to Submit a Request

To initiate a Spanish translation request, please use the Research 411 Portal. Detailed information can also be found in the Research Roadmap FAQ.

Turnaround Time

Turnaround times depend on the length of your document and the number of requests currently in the queue. Because we have only one translator, there is no expedited option available. All requests are processed in the order they are received.

Why This Matters

Providing accurate Spanish translations ensures that research teams can engage meaningfully with diverse populations. This service plays a critical role in supporting inclusivity and accessibility in NIH-funded studies.

Resources and Contact Information

ConduITS is supported by NCATS of the NIH’s CTSA Program. Any use of CTSA-supported resources requires citation of grant number UL1TR004419 awarded to ISMMS in the acknowledgment section of every publication resulting from this support. Adherence to the NIH Public Access Policy is also required.
