Epic at Mount Sinai
Epic is an electronic health record (EHR) system used at Mount Sinai. Epic transforms research workflows into streamlined, scalable, and secure systems.
Although Sinai has been using Epic for the past decade, in May 2024 One Epic was launched at Mount Sinai Brooklyn (MSB), Mount Sinai Downtown (MSD), and The Mount Sinai Hospital (MSH).
With this launch, Sinai introduced additional Epic modules such as Radian (Radiology), Bugsy (Infection Control), Transfer Center (Clinical Command Center), and Research, consolidating our clinical systems and streamlining electronic processes across registration, scheduling, radiology, and hospital billing.
Epic Research Team
The Epic Research Team at ORS provides guidance on how to register research staff for Epic access, submit requests to create and edit Epic study records, recruitment, data reporting, and assistance with the research billing review process.
If the Epic Research Team is not able to answer a question directly, we are able to put you in contact with someone who can assist further in the Epic research community.
Epic Research Resources
The Epic Research Team also communicates important research announcements through the listserv. This includes new available features, reporting reminders, and other helpful tips along with tip sheets for future reference.
Any available Epic Research resources are available either through the CRC Vault, the Research Roadmap, or the Mount Sinai DTP Intranet.
Communicating with the Epic Research Team
If you need additional guidance, please either submit a Research 411 Ticket or attend weekly virtual Epic Research office hours, which are currently Wednesdays from 1:00-2:00pm.
A listserv announcement with the Zoom link is sent Wednesday morning. You must have a Mount Sinai email address to gain access.
ConduITS is supported by NCATS of the NIH’s CTSA Program. Any use of CTSA-supported resources requires citation of grant number UL1TR004419 awarded to ISMMS in the acknowledgment section of every publication resulting from this support. Adherence to the NIH Public Access Policy is also required.
