Introduction to ResearchMatch

Nov 6, 2025 | Conduits News, Edition 8

What is ResearchMatch?
ResearchMatch is a nonprofit, online recruitment platform designed to connect researchers with volunteers interested in participating in health-related research studies. It allows researchers to efficiently find eligible participants while providing volunteers with opportunities to contribute to scientific advancement.

Why Use ResearchMatch?
ResearchMatch serves as an effective recruitment tool, helping researchers identify study participants for clinical and other health-related research. Volunteers gain access to studies aligned with their interests and health profiles, enabling meaningful participation in research.

Who Manages ResearchMatch at Mount Sinai?
The platform is hosted at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, and each participating site has a ResearchMatch Liaison for local support. At Mount Sinai, the ORS ResearchMatch Liaison provides guidance on registration, recruitment, and using the platform effectively.

How to Get Started

  • Register to access the Researcher Dashboard and view aggregate data on the ResearchMatch population.
  • Attend the monthly training for researchers, offered on the second Thursday of every month at 3:00 PM ET.
  • Access additional guidance and recruitment tips through the institutional liaison.

Cost
ResearchMatch is free for researchers, volunteers, and participating institutions, funded by the NIH’s Clinical and Translational Science Award (CTSA) Program grants.
