The Innovation Core is a network of groups and resources that foster innovation and entrepreneurship, vital elements in training scientists to advance their discoveries from the research setting into the clinic. Mount Sinai’s Innovation Partners (MSIP), the technology commercialization arm of the Mount Sinai Health System, is a central node within the Innovation Core, and is responsible for driving the real-world application of Mount Sinai discoveries and inventions, and the development of research partnerships with industry. MSIP integrates the academic vision and resources of ConduITS and the Mount Sinai CTSA to translate discoveries and inventions into health care products and services that benefit patients and society.
We achieve these goals by:
- Educating, training, and coaching the Mount Sinai clinical translational research workforce in the scientific and regulatory processes of innovation, commercialization, and entrepreneurship.
- Disseminating best practices and tools that accelerate commercialization and enhance collaborations to the broader CTSA network.
- Expanding our foundational infrastructure and entrepreneurship platform to promote workforce diversity and more effectively partner with our internal i3 accelerator and external consultants/advisors to bring fledgling ideas to product development, executive team building, funding, and launch.
